The 2-3 year room is lead by Marie with help from Leanne and Karen.  Our main aim is to the children’s happiness which we try to develop and nurture in the room.  We also try to develop the child’s confidence and independence, through fun activities and experiences.  We follow Birth to Three matters and the foundation stage in our plans.  In the Birth to Three plans we focus on four areas which include:

• A Strong Child, where we encourage friendships, self awareness, confidence and trust;
• A Competent Learner, where we encourage making connections, exploring, imagination and experimenting.
  
• A Healthy Child where we encourage keeping safe, expressing feelings, healthy choices and physical skills and finally
• A Skilful Communicator, where we encourage conversation, sharing ideas, listening and understanding language.

• PSE - where we encourage sharing, taking turns and respect for others.
• Maths - where we use number games, counting skills and shape work.
• KUW - where we explore texture, ICT skills and developing the senses.
• CLL - where we introduce Jolly Phonics and enjoy listening to stories and circle time activities.
• Physical - where we experience outdoor play, fine manipulative activities and gym time, and finally
• Creative - where we enjoy music time, painting and imaginary role play.

Hopefully, over the year of being with us they develop in all areas and are ready and prepared for the next stage of their development.
