Glebe House is a non selective school which does not require children to sit an entrance test before admission.
Glebe House will not be
prejudiced by race, colour, religion or sex. No differentiation is made
between the admittance of male or female pupils, and there are no fixed
numbers for either sex.
The Headmaster will make final
decisions on all pupil admissions to the school, where necessary in
liaison with the Head of Nursery.
In the case of children with
special needs the Head master will meet the children and if possible
see previous work and school or medical reports and statements. He will
base his decision on the school's ability to be beneficial to the all
round education of the child.
Where possible children will be
placed in the correct year group for their chronological age. However,
if no spaces are available in the correct year, after discussion with
the parents, the school will offer a place in another year group.
The Head of Nursery will be
responsible to the Headmaster for assessing and placing special needs
children in the Nursery. Before placing a child she will meet the
him/her, it's parents and social worker and possibly visit the child's
other settings, to ensure that Glebe House can successfully fulfil all
the child's needs.
When classes have reached the
optimum number Glebe House will take names for a waiting list and
places will be allocated on a 'first come first served' basis. Class numbers will not rise above 20 pupils per class.
