The aims of the Art & Design Technology Department
- To provide a wide-ranging and well structured course for all children aged 4 – 13 years.
- To assess pupils’ work regularly and record their progress.
- To develop the technical and practical skills necessary to produce well finished pieces.
- To develop an enquiring mind so that curiosity and imagination are stimulated.
- To introduce pupils to a wide selection of artists, designers and craftspeople from across the globe.
- To develop the language necessary to express intentions and opinions.
- To stress safety in the classroom.
- To ensure pupils treat expensive equipment and materials with care.
And most importantly to foster enthusiasm and joy for Art and Design Technology and thereby develop the necessary confidence to produce unique and creative work.
