Under 13 Boys Rugby - Versus Greshams Home |
|
Every match report I have written this season has started
with a weather report because I needed something to say. However, I now have something so exciting to
say that I’m not even going to tell you about the weather.
In the first ten minutes we thought “Here we go again” as Gresham’s scored two quick tries converting
one, leaving them in the lead by 12-0.
Not to be outdone, Mickey-Jack sprinted half the length of the pitch
with a mad look on his face scoring a try to pull back the score to 12-5. Their kick off went to Mickey-Jack who,
supported by John Futter, ran through several tackles, made a slick pass to
John who scored under the post. With the
score too close for comfort we were all fired up for the second half and we
could taste the possibility of victory.
However, we were knocked back by a quick centre who ran the whole length
of the pitch and scored, bring the score to 19-10. The next ten minutes were taken up with both
teams battling in the middle of the pitch, not literally but with the rugby
ball. The deadlock was broken by Andrew
who burst through their defence scoring a try to bring the score to 19-15. With five minutes to go I scored a quick try
2cms from the touch-line. John P then
kicked a fantastic conversion to bring our score to an amazing 22-19.
It was nice to be a successful Captain and credit should go
to every member of the team.
