Under 9s Girls Netball - Versus Beeston Away |
On Wednesday 27th February 2008 the under 9 girls team played Beeston Hall. After a long bus drive we made sure we
did a good warm up on the court. I lost the toss and Beeston took first centre
pass.
They started very well and with some good play
managed to pass the ball into our goal area and scored. They followed this goal
with two more before the end of the first quarter. During the change of ends we
had a quick talk to try and make our marking better. We started the second
quarter with better passing but soon Beeston scored two more goals, all from
their goal attack. However we did not stop trying and after a good move with
some good passes, Jemima B scored our first goal. Beeston then scored one more
goal before half time leaving the score 6-1 to Beeston.
During Half time we
swapped Noemi for Harriet as Goalkeeper. After some refreshing oranges we went
back onto the court and from our pass back we made some good passes and Jemima
scored our second goal and the first of the half. This quarter was much closer
with some good defending from Harriet. Beeston did manage to score one more
goal but this quarter was drawn, one goal all, which was much better.
The last
quarter started and we attacked their goal but couldn’t score and with only
seconds left Beeston scored the last goal of the match. The final whistle went
and we gave Beeston three cheers. The final score was Beeston 8 Glebe House 2.
We need to make our passes more accurate and try to mark closer. However well done
everyone for a much better second half.
