We arrived
at Beeston in perfect weather conditions.
We had a quick team talk and there was a decision to play 2 halves at 25
minutes each side. Beeston had quite a
large team and many substitutes so we knew we were up against it.
We got
off to a slow start but after a while we started to tackle and pass well and Patrick
Webb broke free and scored his first try.
He was very unlucky not to make the conversion; it had to be taken from
a very difficult angle and the ball just bounced off the bar.
Beeston
came back at us and scored a try and a conversion. We then started to really pick up our game
and John Futter scored an amazing try and Patrick Webb made a great conversion.
Score
at end of First half 12 – 7
The
second half everybody played really well and we went on the score a further 7
tries; 2 from MJ Wright, 1 John Futter and 2 from John Pesci and 2 more from
Patrick Webb who made conversions from all but one.
Special
mention to Tom Hancock for his driving forward and supporting the players.
Each
team member gave 100% effort, had great attitude, good scrums, tackling and
passing.
Final
score 59 – 7
Fantastic
Score and thanks to Mr Gill and Mr Crofts for their support and to the parents
who travelled all that way to watch us.
