Under 13s Girls Hockey - Versus St Hugh’s Away

On Wednesday 19th September, Glebe under 13’s played St Hugh’s away.  We were excited because we won our match the week before.  I lost the toss and the chose first push back.  They started strong and in the first five minutes we knew it wasn’t going to be easy.

They were soon in the D. We were not watching the cross and it was swept in.  We were determined and after our push back we hit the ball down and Milly chased.  Unfortunately it was cleared by their defence.  There was a battle in the middle as Franky and Pandora tackled to try and get the ball.  Laura was in the D all alone and we had to sprint back and recover.  Again we missed the cross and it was swept in.  We all pulled our socks up because we were determined to score before the whistle blew.  Tilly ran down and passed to Milly who went around a defender.  After a little bit of confusion in the D, the ball hit the backboard.

The whistle blew and it was half time.  We decided during half time that they were playing an attacking game so we had to break quickly.

After half time we all tried so hard an d finally we made a break.  Milly went through and scored.  We were drawing.

But they fought back and scored a goal.  In the last 10 minutes Pandora made some really good breaks.  Our parents were screaming and shouting but no goal came.  The whistle blew .  Well played everyone.

Woman/man of the Match has to be Pandora who was absolutely everywhere.  Emily also played really well and made some very good saves.  We need to work on our fitness and our footwork.  The end score was 1-4.
