On Friday 9th November the children from the main school choir attended a workshop in the Auden Theatre at Greshams School with the Leader of the National Youth Choir, Mike Brewer. There were a number of prep schools who attended the event and for the final performance the children were joined by the Greshams Choir and a small group of instrumentalists from the school.
The children spent an extremely productive afternoon learning new
skills and putting together a selection of world songs composed by Mr.
Brewer himself along with the Willcocks arrangement of, “Make Me an
Instrument of thy Peace.” The final performance to parents and friends
took the form of a workshop performance so that we could see and hear
what the children had learnt in the afternoon. The sound at the end was
absolutely fabulous and it was quite astounding that they could produce
such a beautiful sound after such a short space of time. On the whole a
very enjoyable and productive experience for all those involved.
