The Day Division One went Italian!

Last Wednesday Mrs Lewis and Mrs Maud took Division One to King’s Lynn to visit Pizza Express. In class Division One has been studying different countries around the world, their cultures, flags, famous buildings and, most importantly, their food.  To follow up work on Italy Division One got the chance to design and make their own pizzas.  pizza_express_037.jpg

We started by trying lots of different toppings. Archie liked the goat’s cheese, Laura tried a little bit of anchovy and Arthur had his favourite -olives. After a thorough scrub down, to make sure our hands were clean (check out the cool hand dryers) we donned chef hats and aprons and began cooking.  The chef showed us how to stretch and toss our dough into the pan then we tipped the tomato sauce in. Emma was really cleaver and made a heart shape with her sauce. Everybody got to choose their toppings and Mrs Maud made one for the teachers with everything on it.

While we waited for our pizzas to cook (they only take 4 minutes in the super hot pizza oven) we had a tour of the restaurant. We got to see a really big coffee machine (much bigger than my Mummy’s – Georgina), a dishwasher just like the one at school and best of all we got to go in the freezer, which was FREEEEEEEZING!

When our pizza’s were cooked and boxed up we all said goodbye (or should that be Arrivederci) and made our way back to school in a minibus that smelt of yummy scrummy pizza.

Thanks Pizza Express for a great time cooking pizza and thanks Division One for being so well-behaved.
