The Soldiers’ Christmas Pre-prep Christmas Play |
On Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th December the children from Reception and Divisions One and Two performed their Christmas play. This years Christmas nativity was told from the point of view of the soldiers who carried out the census in Bethlehem.
The soldiers marched smartly on and off the stage and looked fantastic
dressed in red coats decorated with shiny gold buttons and tall peaked
caps. Amelia Newby and Oliver Searle made very convincing tired and
weary Mary and Joseph who made the long trip to their hometown. Rosie
Gillett as the Angel Gabriel and India Sharland as the main ‘star’ each
wowed the audience with beautiful solos. Those with great acting parts
and lines to learn were Tom Sowerby and Jemima Priest as the innkeeper
and his wife and Tom Stanton and Jonny Chalk as the Shepherds. Reece
Mead, Declan Cobb and Sam Bray all played the wise men. The play was
narrated throughout by Jade Sandy and Jack Harvey. In addition to the
lead characters, children dressed as stars twinkled onto the stage
along with angels, two donkeys and a sheep.
The children ended their wonderful performance with ‘We wish you a Merry Christmas’.
Yet again another dazzling performance by the children in the Pre prep at Glebe House School!
