Nursery Changes

Over Christmas there was little rest for Nigel Finney and the Nursery Staff who took advantage of the holiday to complete the exciting changes to enhance the lives of our Nursery children. Susie Pull commented 'This is a very positive step forward for all children with in nursery as not only are we able to stretch our 18 months + children from the former baby room by enabling them to mix with older children, but we are also able to improve facilities for all other ages thus increasing their opportunities to develop a wider range of skills on a daily basis.'

0-18 month’s room

This area is situated in the new extension, which is suitably positioned to have a larger cot room at one end and at the other end is a buggy park which leads conveniently to the outside, for hastier and safer exits to the garden!

18 months to 3 years room

Includes both the old 0-2 and 2-3 year room, where we have created an open plan area which is connected by a new ramp between the two rooms offering children more space and flexibility of experiences during free play activities.  Thus also giving the opportunity to split the two rooms when necessary, to give the two age groups opportunities to stretch their own individual potential appropriately.  Already we have discovered that both age groups have thoroughly enjoyed having a larger area to explore in, it now means they can reap the benefits of a sensory room, have opportunities for continuous provision both in doors and outdoors when the weather improves and generally offers a far wider choice of activities to hopefully meet the needs of all children every day, not just when we have room to put their favourite activities out!

3-4 Year Room

Stays the same during term time, except during the afternoons when they now have more space as they have both the 0-2 and 2-3 room area to explore in, when they mix with the 2-3 year Group.  During holidays we will mainly mix with the 2-3 year group as per term time afternoons, but possibly use the 3-4 Year Group as numbers increase throughout the year.
