A week before the end of term we were delighted to welcome
back Darryl Veenendaal who left the school in 2003. Darryl spoke to the school
and assembly and presented the Northampton shirt that he wore in the Guinness
Premiership A Final against London Wasps and the Headmaster was happy to accept
it on behalf of the school. It now has pride of place in the Dining Room
opposite the names of past Boys Sports Captains.
After leaving Glebe Darryl won a sports scholarship to
Sedbergh where he was part of a successful rugby team before moving again on a
scholarship to do A levels at Oakham, where he was captain of rugby in his
final year. Darryl.who will be attending
university in Northampton in the Autumn, will continue to be part of the
Northampton Saints Squad, playing initially at Bedford as part of the
partnership arrangement between the two clubs.
