Autumn term

There are several things that make an autumn term exciting. Returning in September means that we are rested after the summer holiday. Children are enthused by meeting or making friends and are keen to work. Parents share in their child’s pleasure (and are sometimes a bit relieved that holidays are over!) Staff too are reinvigorated and looking forward to all that the new term has to offer.

A year ago we were proudly receiving positive comments about our recently refurbished Nursery, which built on our Outstanding Inspection of the previous year. The changes have now fully bedded in and we have welcomed many new children, who are benefitting from the care and facilities we provide.

We are excited that at the beginning of July we were able to purchase the freehold of the majority of the land that forms the school estate. This will revolutionise our ability to plan for the future and develop that which we have to offer.

Alongside our playing fields, kitchen garden, nearby woodland and Hunstanton’s beaches, we have the perfect spots for outdoor learning on our doorstep. Under the direction of our qualified Forest School leader, we are extending this provision this term to include both curricular time and to make use of spare time to offer the ‘Aquilian Experience’, which will equip our children in so many ways for the future.
As an independent prep school, we have the flexibility to create a curriculum that best matches our pupils’ and teaching staff’s interests.

Arts too play an important role in our curriculum, and this term all of our children will be involved in the production of an end-of-term Christmas Show at Hunstanton Town Hall – a superb moment which showcases the inclusive and collaborative nature of our school.

If you are thinking of an independent education for your child, we would be delighted to welcome you and your family to join us on Saturday October 14th for our Open Day or equally we would be pleased to invite you to enjoy a tour of Glebe House School at your convenience, to observe our daily life and to discuss your child’s education with us.
