May I start by belatedly wishing anyone who I've not seen a Happy New Year?
It has been a pleasure to see the children back. In assembly on Tuesday I talked about starts of terms or years being a time of hope and I certainly look forward to all that we can accomplish together.
Inevitably there is little to report on early in the term, so in the spirit of anticipation can I draw your attention to a few highlights to come this term? A printed copy of the calendar will be sent to parents today, but as things do get added/change/get updated please regard the online calendar as the most accurate source of information along with Lisa's Friday 'What's On'.
Please do note the various opportunities for parents to talk to subject teachers in the Prep School and class teacher/key workers in Pre-Prep/Nursery. Information has been sent out for the first of these and will be sent in good time to make appointments for the other evenings.

Talking to one another
It is good to share ideas and to pass on thoughts and to this end Rob Gladstone would like to invite the parents of pupils in Divisions Vll & Vlll with their children to a talk entitled ' The Art of Learning' on Tuesday 23rd January at 6.00pm.
I am always pleased to talk over any ideas/concerns with groups of parents and intend to do this during the term. I would therefore be grateful if parents could let me know whether they would prefer such 'chats' to be after drop off in the morning, before afternoon pick up or in the evening.
It is also my intention this term to offer parents, principally in Divisions lV to Vl, the opportunity to hear from myself and my colleagues about the programme for Divisions Vll & Vlll and the process for choosing a senior school after Division Vlll.
Doing things together
The focus for many of our social occasions is events organised by our Parents' Committee.
The first of these is on Thursday 8th February when the children and staff all go for a walk and we are joined by a numbers of parents, grandparents and friends, often with dogs. We have been doing this for six years with all children walking an appropriate distance and meeting up for lunch, which will be fish/sausage etc & chips, kindly donated as last year by Matthew & Kerrie Page from their shop at Snettisham Beach. Donations are made to charity and prayers are offered for no rain!
On Thursday 1st March there is the Quiz with food for parents costing £15 per person at the Rose & Crown in Snettisham. While there is inevitably a competitive element, the emphasis is on having fun and teams of 4-6 people are needed, so please give it thought and let Colleen Walters or the Office know if you have a team.
The children are then included in the Bingo Night on Friday 16th March, which starts at 5.30pm so that even the youngest can enjoy it and not be too late to bed.
Sport & other performances
Our Sports' matches start this week with seven children from Divisions lll-V who qualified from the cluster event, taking part against the best regional swimmers on Wednesday, so best of luck to : Tabitha Meek, Freddie Gribbin, Edward Gostling, Lily Flett, Jonny Goode, Charlie Prout and William Saunders.
Netball & Hockey matches follow home and away and parents are most welcome to attend and to join us at home matches for refresments afterwards. We can't promise good weather, but the tea is hot and the cakes are lovely!
Rehearsals of the Division lll & lV play Splash have already started for performances at the end of term and we look forward to the music making that will see an informal concert and a House Music competition during the term.
I look forward to seeing many of you during the week
