Sport is an integral part of school life and our grounds include a 12-acre estate, covered swimming pool, Astroturf pitch, playing fields and gymnasium. Communication, teamwork and self-esteem developed on the playing field are all traits which will stand pupils in good stead throughout their lives, and our curriculum reflects this.
Rugby, hockey and cricket (boys) and hockey, netball and rounders (girls) are regularly played, and children can also participate in archery, athletics, cross-country, fencing, football, golf, tennis and sailing. Regardless of ability, every child has numerous opportunities to play for their house and school in competitive fixtures.
We are always delighted when our children excel not only in Inter School matches but in representing their county, region, and even country. We have a pleasing record of children representing Norfolk in a variety of sports and going on to win national titles. Recent Old Aquilians have gone on to play England U16 and U20 Rugby as well as playing professional sport.
‘From reception onwards the curriculum is enhanced by the use of specialist staff to teach physical education,’
